Project Inspire prize pool increases to US$35,000, with a new US$10,000 social enterprise grant from Hilton Worldwide

Singapore Committee for UN Women and MasterCard announce a brand new grant prize for their annual women’s empowerment competition, Project Inspire. A US$10,000 grant will be awarded to the runner-up, courtesy of new partner Hilton Worldwide.

“Hilton Worldwide’s core values of integrity, leadership and teamwork align with Project Inspire‘s ethos to provide young change-makers with a chance to make a sustainable impact in the lives of women. We welcome Hilton Worldwide to join us in our work towards gender equality,” says Trina Liang-Lin, President, Singapore Committee for UN Women.

Georgette Tan, Group Head, Communications, Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa, MasterCard and co-founder of Project Inspire, adds, “In the past three years we’ve seen Project Inspire go from strength to strength, and it is truly amazing that this idea has brought together so many like-minded people from around the world who are in pursuit of social change.”

“It’s a privilege to collaborate with partners such as Singapore Committee for UN Women and MasterCard to invest in young change-makers, who in turn enable sustainable impact and improvement to our communities,” says Brendan Toomey, Vice President, Human Resources, Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide. “Project Inspire truly brings to life our Travel with Purpose strategy; to create shared value for our business and communities around the globe. It also reinforces two key announcements we made earlier this year – one, our pledge to impact at least one-million young people by 2019, and two, our commitment to UN Women and United Nations Global Compact’s Women’s Empowerment Principles.”

Winners are decided by a judging panel and will be announced at the grand final in Singapore on Saturday, 30th August, 2014.
